Sam Nacht:
Having studied several instruments both formally and self-taught, in ’99 Sam narrowed it down to the tenor saxophone, taking private lessons with Juan Ignacio Caino, Luis Nacht (no relation) and eventually Evan Parker...

Leo Bettinelli, starting from improvisation and the use of objects and unconventional instruments, he delved into a world of sound of practically endless possibilities, nearing the musical subconscious, which he then incorporated into his life, both as a performer as well as the organizer of several series of experimental music concerts in different venues in Buenos Aires and Barcelona, where renowned musicians both from the local and international scene were invited to participate...

0klman: Electro Rock Act Paris And The Hiltons Releases "Reading Journals, Part One: Puzzles Of Ithaca"

Phil Jourdan of the UK electronic rock act Paris and the Hiltons announced the release his third album, "Reading Journals." The album is being released in three stages, and upon completion will boast 22 tracks. The first installment, "Reading Journals, Part One: Puzzles of Ithaca" features 7 songs that are based loosely on William Faulkner's book Absalom, Absalom.
Commenting on how his latest album is different from the prior two, Jourdan responded, "This album really has scope. It's a twenty-two track work and includes jazz, rock, electronica, weird avant-garde stuff, ballads, jams, IDM beats, and so on. It sounds different from what people would have expected from us, but I think it sounds better, too. And the focus on literature is important as well, because it let us go in a direction that most people don't think of going." He continued, "Basing the album on works of fiction meant I had to reread things, figure out what I wanted to focus on, and discard themes in those books that I knew were important but that didn't particularly move me."
"Reading Journals, Part One: Puzzles of Ithaca" is available for download at Bandcamp.com at http://parisandthehiltons.bandcamp.com/album/reading-journals-part-one-puzzles-of-ithaca. "Prettyface Tinybruise" and "Fracture and Slice" are both available for purchase at iTunes.

0klman: SUBTLETY : AUDACITY – A Mixed-media Art Exhibition Featuring 5 Local Artists And DJ Pandemonium

SUBTLETY : AUDACITY presents a “one night only” mixed-media art installation featuring five local artists, one DJ and a magician. Works by David Bianchi, Chris Brown, John Dewey, Aerick Eisenstein, and Ed Schofield will be on display throughout the new JET Studios complex (5126-30 Lankershim Boulevard, North Hollywood, CA 91601) in Los Angeles’ NOHO Arts district. The cross-platform art exhibit will be held on Saturday, September 17 from 7:00 PM – 12:00 AM. The event is free and open to the public!
SUBTLETY : AUDACITY challenges the boundaries of what is to be expected with a traditional "art exhibition" and is intending to create a new space for cultural development. The individuals involved all come from very different educations, backgrounds, and disciplines, but are uniting to bring the community a night to remember.
SUBTLETY : AUDACITY, primarily a painting show, the work on view attempts to bridge and blend gaps between direct and mediated experience. SUBTLETY : AUDACITY will infuse live installations, short films, spoken word, live music, magic, atmospheric electronica, dance and eclectic food and beverage to highlight the curation. While disparate in nature, the event will unite these elements in a fluid and exciting manner. Guests’ assumptions of "how to view an artwork" will be challenged with unexpected and pleasant surprises.

0klman: AndrewVictoria Music Duo: Triple Threat & Triple Treat!

Show like American Idol, Xfactor and Karaoke Battle USA are proving there's a wealth of fabulous undiscovered singers and musicians out there. But how many of them write their own material, work the stage like they were born to it, and can sell originals to audiences who line up after a show for an autograph on a simple home-produced acoustic CD?
That's the magic of singer/songwriter duo, AndrewVictoria who have been stacking up the honors for their songwriting since February 2011 when they won "Songwriter of the Month" at SONGWRITER'S UNIVERSE for their original, "It's Not Over". A month or two later, they took out 2nd place in New York's CLASH OF THE ARTISTS songwriting division for 3 more songs.
This was followed in June by a fabulous win in their own hometown of Hamilton, Ontario, when they took home "the DEVA" and a cash prize for their gorgeous song "REPEAT YESTERDAY" in the H24 Songwriting Challenge. That contest was indeed a challenge to all who entered: contestants were given 24 hours to come up with an original song that adhered to 3 strict criteria. They then had to perform it for a live audience 24 hours later. You can read the details and see a video of the events while listening to the song itself at AndrewVictoria's YouTube site. Incidentally, AndrewVictoria also provide a link there for a FREE DOWNLOAD of this beautiful love-song, "Repeat Yesterday".

This album was played for a ballet made by Vanessa Villain, called "Subliminal", telling how the man exploit the Earth and how in return nature take her revenge. Shortly after happens the one of most devastating tsunami in south-east Asia.
Raksha Bandhan is dedicated to Ganga Bharty & Morihei Ueshiba.
The all album is dedicated to the Sadhu who lived on the top of Arunachala (the hill behind Tiruvinamalai)

Ujjaya is one man project, Randriambololona Hery, living in France but who have malagasy root, and travel throughIndia and South-east Asia, playing dozen of exotic instruments. At the very begining in the ealy 90 I was an electric guitarist that was fascinated with the unexplore potency of that instrument. As a spiritual seeker too, my music basically rooted in the metal, prog rock was aiming more and more toward the ambient music.

0klman: "I" By Jahmings Maccow

Jahmings Maccow’s video “I” is a spiritual Rastafarian message conveyed in a medium that is moving to the heart and soul. While the track is reggae rock at its essence, it crosses over into another musical realm that is soothing, reassuring, and inspirational. The video itself is simple to avoid distractions from the song’s meaning, and has its intended effect on the viewer. This slow tempo, magical tune is mellow music that is good and strong. Interesting and tranquil images unfold throughout the video but keep the listener tuned in to the message which exudes happy feelings, enthusiasm, and positivity!
“I” is available for purchase at on iTunes http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/id353645701 and Amazon http://www.amazon.com/I-Jahmings-Maccow/dp/B003WUYO8O/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1314507686&sr=1-1

0klman: John Galea - "Faded Popstar"

John Galea’s video “Faded Popstar” is so cool and creative that it will remind you why they began making music videos in the first place. With the use of animation, pictures, photos, and moving pictures, Galea gets his point across to mediocre musicians very nicely: You might be popular right now, but if you’re not the real thing and your songs always sound like someone else’s, you’ll fade away from musical memory sooner rather than later. The song is adorable, lyrically astute, and absolutely true. Galea has a great voice and gives a great vocal performance on this upbeat and catchy track. “Faded Popstar” has a very nice beat and the piano playing is great. The song has a very original sound, and it’s clear that Galea is not throwing rocks while living in a glass house with this track. This is one artist whose talent is not debatable, and pop music lovers, as well as anyone who loves to hear good music with a story behind it will love having “Faded Popstar” in their collection.

Artist: Yonograph
Title: Silent Opening

Date: 2011-08-29
Keywords: folk; rock; acoustic
(320 kbps)

Originally released in 2008 in a limited handmade CD package, "Silent Opening" is an intimate folk/rock debut album from the french songwriter Yonograph (Yohann Antignac).
After playing in different bands and artistic projects, Yohann played solo on stage in 2006 under the name of "Yoan and the Silent Phonograph".
Why this name? Maybe to refer to the good old music values which disappeared day after day...or maybe just because of the worry of feeling lonely on stage.
The "one man band" became Yonograph in 2010 after many gigs everywhere in France...
